Resoconto delle attivita’ di manutenzione da svolgere:

• Installazione router aggiuntivi
• Installazione upstreams 10Gbit/s aggiuntivi
• Upgrade interconnessione in fibra DC#1 <-> DC#2
• Installazione Server Loadbalancer aggiuntivo

Impatto per Clienti:

• I lavori ed aggiornamenti comporteranno un downtime per server dedicati e servizi.
• In seguito all’installazione dei nuovi routers le connessioni BGP verranno risicronizzate e modificate, questo comportera’ un downtime della connettivita’ tramite i carriers Level3 e Cogent (gli upstream KPN e GBLX non
• saranno coinvolti).
• Contemporaneamente verranno installati nuovi switches e al termine di questi upgrades l’interconnessione in fibra tra i due datacenter verra’ potenziata.
• Tutte queste operazioni sono classificate come ”Service affecting”, cioe’ con alto rischio di downtime. I lavori saranno terminati alle ore 02:30, ma ci riserviamo l’utilizzo della finestra di maintenance fino alle ore 06:00 per far fronte ad eventuali imprevisti.
• In caso di problemi gravi e’ prevista l’escalazione ai carriers coinvolti ed in extremis il ripristino dell’infrastruttura precedente (rollback).

Zusammenfassung der Arbeiten:

• Neue Core-Router und Core-Switches werden installiert.
• Die Innen- und Aussen-Anbindung wird verstärkt.
• Die Glasfaser-Verbindung zwischen Rechenzentrum #1 und Rechenzentrum #2 wird aufgerüstet
• Die Windows Virtual Private Server werden aktualisiert.
• Die Wartungsarbeiten sollten um 02:30 Uhr abgeschlossen sein, wir behalten uns jedoch vor, das gesamte Wartungsfenester bis 06:00 Uhr auszunutzen, sollten wider Erwarten Probleme oder Komplikationen auftreten. In diesem Falle ist die Eskalation zu den Carriern und Lieferanten vorgesehen und im Extremfall eine komplette Rückabwicklung der Upgrades (rollback).

Kundeneinfluss / Beeinträchtigung für Kunden:
Wir gehen davon aus, dass Ausfälle stattfinden werden und die Umstellung zumindest für kurze Server- und Service-Ausfälle führen wird.

diese Nacht ab 23 Uhr werden neue Switches und Router (10Gbit/s Core) im Rechenzentrum #2 installiert. Dabei wird es zu Ausfällen von einzelnen Servern kommen, die im Rechenzentrum #1 und #2 untergebracht sind, da wir einige Switchovers durchführen müssen.

abbiamo concluso con successo l’upgrade dell’upstream con il carrier KPN, incrementando nettamente la banda. Questo e’ il primo di molti upgrades pianificati per l’implementazione del progetto chiamato internamente “Next Generation Network” per portare l’intera infrastruttura di rete e la banda minima delle connessioni a 10 Gbit/s utilizzando hardware Cisco di ultima generazione.

Nelle prossime quattro settimane verranno installati nuovi routers e switches in entrambi i datacenter; i lavori connessi, ausiliari e di manutenzione per il potenziamento della rete verranno svolti durante la notte per minimizzarne l’impatto.

1. Ancora piu’ banda disponibile per data center e per collegamenti interni e crossover
2. Ulteriore ottimizzazione della latenza

6. Rafforzamento della banda disponibile ed ottimizzazione della latenza specialmente verso le reti di clienti finali (fornitori ADSL)
7. Sistemi di sicurezza, anti-intrusione, ispezione del traffico e mitigazione dDoS all’avanguardia e di ultima generazione

Durante le prossime quattro settimane le date esatte degli aggiornamenti, di manutenzione programmata ed interventi che potenzialmente possono incidere sui servizi o causare eventuali downtimes, saranno preannunciate su questa pagina a tempo debito.

we have successfully upgraded our uplink to KPN, this is just the first of a series of upgrades planned for the roll-out of our internal “Next Generation Network” project. We will be fully upgrading all of our network infrastructure in the next four weeks, bringing all network infrastructure connections up to at least 10 Gbit/s using newest Cisco hardware.

We will be adding new routers and switches in both datacenters; upgrade works will take place during the night, so that impact should be minimized.

Why is this upgrade and the Next Generation Network project valuable for You as a customer?

Currently we are experiencing a dDoS-attack to two servers, mitigation is already in progress. Offender IPs are being recorded and forwarded to the authorities for further inspection.

Al momento e’ in corso un attacco dDoS dedicato a due server dedicati, la mitigazione e’ gia’ in corso. I logs degli IP attaccanti vengono registrati ed inoltrati alle autorita’ competenti.

Derzeit findet ein dDoS-Angriff gegen zwei Server in unserem Netzwerk statt, die Mitigation läuft bereits. Die Logs mitsamt angreifender IP-Adressen werden an die zuständige Behörde weitergeleitet.

Die wichtigsten Internet-Routen zu Ägypten sind derzeit gestört, auf unseren Routern haben wir ca. 2500 Netzwerke (verteilt auf ca. 50 AS-Nummern) der wichtigsten Provider und Netzwerke in Ägypten verschwinden sehen. Verschiedenen Medienberichten zufolge geht die weltweite Störung der Internet-Verbindung zu und von Ägypten angeblich auf Anweisungen der ägyptischen Regierung zurück.

Wir verfolgen die Routing-Situation und halten Sie am Laufenden.

Le connessioni principali da e verso l’Egitto risultano offline, con circa 2500 subnet (distribuiti in precedenza da circa 50 numeri AS) svaniti dalle tabelle di routing e BGP dei nostri routers centrali. Dai media si presume che il blocco sia causato da un apparente ordine del governo Egiziano.

E’ da desumere un ripristino della connettivita’ egiziana soltanto quando il presunto ordine di blocco del governo Egiziano sia terminato e/o revisionato.

The main internet routes to Egypt are offline, with about 2500 networks (originating from about 50 AS-numbers) vanishing from our core routers BGP and routing tables overnight. From media reports this is a worldwide disruption of traffic in and out of Egypt, presumably after a government order.

Therefore the disruption of traffic to and from Egypt should disappear only after the presumable government order.

The NOC of Telecom Italia / Seabone informed us about a defect router in Milano with various connectivity issues both from Italy and abroad.
