Upgrade of incubatecONE (217.70.146.2)
Shared-hosting server incubatecONE will be upgraded to a powerdual dual-cpu and SCSI-based server-system within a week. All customers affected (webhosting24-customers residing on the server), will receive an e-mail communication regarding the upgrade and planned maintenance works.

The maintenance work on the cogent uplink was successfully completed this morning without problems.

The SPAM- and Virus-filtering systems are clearly overloaded, the server had to be rebooted this morning.

UPDATE: Cogent uplink
Cogent uplink went down about 15 minutes ago due to a router error. The linecard will be rebooted, cogent connectivity should be up again in a few minutes. Datacenter connectivity was never affected, as lines are redundant.
UPDATE: Cogent uplink is now active again, full redundancy of lines is restored.
cns1 nameserver rebooted
The cns1 nameserver (IP: 84.33.0.251) has been rebooted and is now online again; the short downtime caused some latency with SMTP-services on some servers that use this server as auxiliary nameserver.
Shared hosting server wh24special
The CMS- and Blog-specialized server called “wh24special” suffered two downtimes due to a NFS-failure the last two nights; we are currently analyzing the problem and will keep you up-to-date.
Il server denominato “wh24special” specializzato per l’hosting di sistemi content-management e blogs ha avuto due downtimes a causa di un grave problema NFS nelle ultime due notti; al momento stiamo tuttora analizzando la causa esatta del problema.
Der für CMS- und Blog-Systeme spezialisierte Server “wh24special” hatte die letzten zwei Nächte Ausfälle wegen eines groben Fehlers im NFS-System zu verzeichnen. Derzeit arbeiten wir noch daran, das Problem genau zu analysieren und die Fehlerursache zu beseitigen.
E-Mail Virus
Since September 2006 the numbers of incoming virus-infected e-mails has doubled, therefore the antivirus-systems at the moment are under heavy-load and response from mailservers is slow.
Da settembre 2006 il numero dei messaggi e-mail contenenti virus in entrata e’ raddoppiato, quindi per i sistemi antivirus ed antispam al momento rileviamo un carico molto elevato e di conseguenza i tempi di risposta dei mailservers, sia managed che del nostro mailcluster, sono piu’ alti del solito.
Seit September 2006 hat sich die Anzahl der eingehenden und mit Viren infizierten E-Mails verdoppelt, daher ist die Last der Antispam- und Antiviren-System derzeit ungewöhnlich hoch und führt zu erhöhten Antwortzweiten bei den Mailservers, sowohl bei unserem Mailcluster als auch bei den Managed-Servern.
Update#3 routing Telecom Italia
Switched to assymetrical routing, now incoming traffic from Telcom Italia comes over Level3, outgoing traffic goes over Cogent; this seems to solve the problem termporarily.
Modificato il routing ad assimetrico, ora traffico in entrata da Telecom italia passa per Level3, traffico in uscita passa per Cogent; questo sembra alleviare il problema temporaneamente.
Das Routing wurde auf assymetrisch umgestellet; eingehender Verkehr von Telecom Italia wird über Level3, ausgehender Traffic über Cogent geroutet; das scheint das Problem zumindest zeitweise zu beheben.
